Choose WordPress hosting provider
Requirements for creating a WordPress website
In order for the website you want to create to be accessible via the Internet, you need a WordPress hosting Provider who can provide you with the following:
- One domain A domain - This is the internet address under which your website should be accessible in the future. Example: wordpresswebsitecreate.com
- A web space A web space - A web space is the storage space on a server on the Internet where you upload your website data to create a WordPress website.
You will also need the CMS (content management system) WordPress - WordPress is free. You can download WordPress here: WordPress Download.
How to find the best WordPress hosting provider
There are many WordPress hosting providers, with different prices and different features. It is therefore advisable to read a few test reports and WordPress hosting comparisons to read through. Choose the WordPress hosting provider that you personally like the most and where the price-performance ratio is right. Support also plays a very important role if your website is unavailable so that you can get help quickly.
In this guide, we will focus on the Test winner "WPspace" in the WordPress hosting comparison 2024 from Blogmojo.de. However, you can also use these instructions to create a WordPress website with another provider. The steps for creating a WordPress website are very similar for every provider and only differ in minor details.

Step 2: Select domain
Next, select your desired domain, click on "Check" to find out whether your desired domain is still available and then click on "Continue":
If you already have a domain, you can either transfer it to WPspace or just book the hosting and leave the domain with your current provider.
Important: If you want to leave your domain with your current provider, you need to take further steps to link it to WordPress hosting from WPspace. If you don't know how to do this, WPspace support and the support of your current provider can help you.
Step 3: Configure WordPress hosting
In the next step, you have the option of configuring your WordPress hosting and adding more storage space, for example. If this is your first WordPress website, then you probably won't need any additional storage space. So save yourself the money and continue without further configuration.
Step 4: Domain configuration
We recommend that you activate DNS management directly. This is 100 % free of charge for you - now and in the future.
Step 5: Finalize your order
In the last step, you can view your order in the summary, enter your payment information and select your payment method. You can choose between purchase on account or by SEPA direct debit. We recommend that you select SEPA direct debit, then the purchase amount will be conveniently debited from your deposited account.
Note: Orders from new customers at WPspace are manually checked and approved during business hours on weekdays between 09:00 and 17:00. So do not proceed with the next step until you have received the email from WPspace that your WordPress hosting has been provided. This usually only takes a few minutes.

Select and upload the theme for your WordPress site
There is an endless smorgasbord of WordPress Themeswhich are differentiated by category, color or style. The most important difference for you is probably free and paid.
Some free themes are available directly in WordPress and some of them look really good. However, they don't offer you much flexibility in terms of design and individuality when creating a WordPress website. For a professional website, it's worth spending a few euros and purchasing a premium theme, for example via Themeforest to buy.
